Concierge Medicine & Medicare

Medicare patients are welcome at Echelon-Health. Here’s how it works.

Medicare at Echelon-Health

When you become eligible for Medicare, the health system can suddenly look a lot different. Each day more and more people are signing up for Medicare and the system can’t keep up. You may have noticed you cannot see a doctor in a timely fashion, or you may be required to follow up with a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant. Although you may be retired, you don’t have all day to wait around a doctor’s office.

The Concierge Option

Luckily you can still have a doctor who knows you and your health intimately. With a concierge medicine doctor in your corner, you can count on having someone to answer your calls when you need them and look out for your best interests.

At Echelon-Health Concierge Medicine we are “opted-out” of Medicare, which means that while we will not bill Medicare for any of your medical care, we can still refer you to doctors, prescribe medications, and order exams.

Echelon-Health does not bill Medicare or any third-party payer. The annual membership fee is paid directly by the patient. This is true for all plan types — traditional Medicare, Medicare PPO, and Medicare Advantage HMO plans. If you have a Medicare HMO, you may have some difficulty with referrals and prior authorizations outside the network.

What About Medicare HMOs?

HMO plans have their own rules about what you can and cannot do outside the network. The HMO may require you to have an “in-network” physician for any referrals. We encourage you to come in for a complimentary consultation to see if Echelon-Health Concierge Medicine is right for you.
